Youth and Family Director: Lance Quick

Lance joined the staff March 2003 as youth and family coordinator. He is a long-standing member of Bethlehem Church and has served in many capacities over the years. He became a certified youth minister through the Wartburg Seminary and is currently attending Luther Seminary in St Paul, MN for his MA in the Children, Youth and Family Ministry program. He is part of their Distributed Learning Program which allows him to work full time and attend seminary through on line learning and on site Intensive sessions. Lance is also a musician/ songwriter playing guitar and singing with the Contemporary Musical Group.

He was a financial planner for 17 years changing careers in 2003 "to follow God's call." He is married to Donna and has three children, Adam, Sarah, and Emily, who are all out of the "nest" pursuing their own careers.

He loves people in general (youth in particular) and enjoys getting to know and forming relationships with a wide variety of people. He says he would like nothing more than to establish a feeling of belonging with the families at Bethlehem and to build a comfortable place for the youth to hang out --a place of refuge from the daily demands of the real world. The real world will place its claim on them soon enough!

For Lance's philosophy he states: "My vision for the youth and family ministry is a partnership between individuals, families, and the body of Christ (young and old alike) where we together discover God's word and sacraments, Christian values, and experience Christ as Lord and Savior by living His word and by living by His example."
